Bill Kristol Labels Trump a ‘Jackass’ During Fiery Argument Over Boy Scout Speech
A discussion about President Donald Trump‘s politically charged speech to a group of Boy Scouts went off the rails and included a prominent right-leaning pundit calling the President a jackass.
On Thursday’s edition of Out Front, Weekly Standard editor Bill Kristol ripped Trump’s remarks to the Scouts, specifically his critical comments about former President Barack Obama.
“What a jackass you have to be to speak to the Boy Scouts and attack your predecessor as President of the United States,” Kristol said. “Here you are at an all-American civic thing. Don’t say a word if you can’t say something nice about Barack Obama.”
Paris Dennard, a Republican commentator, blasted Kristol for using the expletive to describe Trump.
“For Bill Kristol not to get through one segment, and calling the president a jackass, totally flies in the face of his current statements about the president,” Dennard said. “How ’bout you follow suit with what you want the president to do. And show him a little bit of respect…That’s inappropriate. Let’s set the standards.”
Kristol then said mockingly, “Awww, I’m so sorry.”
“No you’re not actually,” Dennard said. “And don’t patronize me!”
“People like you have been rationalizing Donald Trump and defending everything about him,” Kristol said. “And I hope you’re pleased with Donald Trump’s behavior in the White House.”
Kristol added, “He’s a jackass. I’m just gonna statement. That’s an empirical statement. That’s not an attack. That’s just a fact.”
