One of the America’s most famous historians, Doris Kearns Goodwin, stopped by the set of Morning Joe on Thursday to give a historical perspective our 45th president, Donald Trump.
“I don’t think he’s taken control of the agenda in any way,” she said. “He’s lost control of the bully pulpit.”
Goodwin, whose book Team of Rivals was a known favorite of Barack Obama, offered an almost Jedi-like assessment of Trump warning that his “anger” could end up consuming him and his administration.
“That anger has to be taken out and go somewhere or it’s going to blow up the presidency,” said Goodwin, who added that any of the presidents she has written about in the past would want Trump to cool it on Twitter.
“If they could stop him tweeting,” she sighed. “He tweets and that changes the oxygen.”
Goodwin and the Morning Joe panel were on discussing the recent article by National Review Editor-in-Chief Rich Lowry, The Crisis of Trumpism.
