Drudge Goes Off on GOP: ‘Why Would Anyone Vote Republican?’

Conservative news aggregator Matt Drudge has taken a very strong stance against Syrian intervention, and early Tuesday he took to Twitter to declare the political debate over Syria has once and for all shut down the idea there is any whiff of difference between Democrats and Republicans; the real difference is “Authoritarian vs. Libertarian” now.

On Monday, Drudge touted a poll on his site showing a clear majority of people opposing action in Syria. As of this posting, here’s where the poll stands:

That’s a larger ratio than 10 to 1, with over half a million votes against intervention.

Drudge today lamented the bipartisan consensus on Syria and slammed the GOP for getting behind it.

Following a meeting at the White House, Republican House leaders John Boehner and Eric Cantor said they supported Obama’s proposal, while Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell has not indicated his position yet.
