Fox News Personalities Share Touching Stories About Krauthammer: You Can’t ‘Measure Up to This Guy’
Many in Washington on both sides of the aisle are mourning the passing, late Thursday, of Charles Krauthammer — widely considered one of the great conservative thought leaders of modern times.
Friday on America’s Newsroom, several of Krauthammer’s longtime Fox News colleagues paid emotional tribute to their departed friend.
Guy Benson:
I’ll never forget one of the thrills and terrors of my career was first appearing with him on the Special Report panel that I had watched for years, and admired him. And I remember before the first panel thinking to myself, “How on Earth can I measure up to this guy?” And then I just had this comfortingly simple answer: You couldn’t. You can’t. And you just had to do your bes. And he was unfailingly supportive ,and would give you tips and pointers — and I was the most junior guy in the bureau, and he was engaging me almost as if I was an equal even though I wasn’t. And it just meant so much.
Bret Baier:
He didn’t waste words. He was wise, but also had this humor. He was not the traditional — you know, one way or the other. You didn’t know how he would come down on some things. And then he would write a column about TSA, that would be “Don’t Touch My Junk.” And you would die laughing.
He just had this gift. And I think that there are very few people in our world today that have that. And I hope somebody can come close, but I don’t think anybody will be like Charles Krauthammer.
