‘Get Him the Hell Out!’: Stephen A. Smith Completely Explodes on Knicks Prez Phil Jackson

As they have been for the better part of the past two decades, the New York Knicks are the laughingstock of the NBA. At his end of the season press conference Friday, team president Phil Jackson is openly trying to get rid of star player Carmelo Anthony, saying Anthony would “be better off somewhere else.”

Jackson has been the chief basketball executive of the Knicks for the past three years, during which time the team has gone a combined 80-166.

That woeful record is apparently enough for Stephen A. Smith to call for Jackson’s ouster. During a one minute-50 second tirade Monday on First Take, the ESPN hot-taker absolutely exploded.

“He is an absolute disgrace,” Smith said. “He needs to get the hell out of New York City. Big-time, quick, fast, and in a hurry.”

Smith added, “I think people need to protest outside the streets of Madison Square Garden until this man is gone.”

Apart from the 2015 draft selection of young star player Kristaps Porzingis, the consensus around the NBA is that Jackson has made all the wrong moves as the man in charge of the Knicks. Friday’s remarks about Anthony were evidently the last straw for Smith — who screamed for a full minute calling for Jackson’s dismissal.

“I don’t know what I would do to Phil Jackson if he showed his face! ” Smith said. “This man is a disgrace! Because he’s sabotaging the Knicks!”
