At the end of an absolutely bonkers interview in which Rep. Brad Sherman (D-CA) completely derailed his segment with Fox News host Tucker Carlson, the Democratic lawmaker made sure Tucker’s next segment also went off the rails.
Washington Examiner columnist Byron York showed up and sat down at the desk to talk with Carlson about the recent reports that the Democratic National Committee and Hillary Clinton’s campaign were involved in funding the notorious Trump/Russia dossier. Meanwhile, Sherman, having just finished his crazy hit with Tucker, was still seated next to Carlson.
After York spoke at length about the topic, Tucker then noted the California congressman was still sitting at the table with them and asked Sherman if he wanted to interject. And boy did he.
“My articles of impeachment have always been about obstruction of justice,” he exclaimed. “It’s not the crime, it’s the cover-up. We have three different instances of violation of section 1512. Whether Trump colluded or didn’t collude, he tried to stop the investigation.”
Carlson shot back, “Just tell me you are a little embarrassed by these revelations.”
“I’m not embarrassed at all,” Sherman said. “I’m embarrassed we’re not here talking about impeaching a president, the things that are important to the American people, not whether the last candidate for president had a good campaign or didn’t have a campaign. It is as silly as trying to say that Richard Nixon should be in office because you have dirt on George McGovern. That’s insane.”
After giving York a chance to get in one last point, Carlson then asked the congressman who had dominated two segments if he wanted to read the tease heading to commercial. And Sherman did!
