Last year, you’ll recall that the House of Representatives, led by John Boehner, filed suit against President Obama over executive action on Obamacare. That lawsuit was filed the very same week Obama announced executive action on immigration.
An anonymous source (or sources) in the room during a closed-door GOP meeting recalled that Boehner said, “We are finalizing a plan to authorize litigation on this issue, one we believe gives us the best chance of success.”
They wouldn’t be able to sue right away; just like last year, they would have to pass a resolution on the lawsuit first. But if this were to proceed, it would mark health care and immigration as two major issues that Republicans have sued the president over.
