Huckabee: Obamas Letting Kids Listen to Beyoncé Is Bad Parenting

According to Mike Huckabee, there is something lacking about parents who let their children listen to the sex music of Beyoncé, which the Obamas apparently do.

The Obamas “are excellent and exemplary parents in many ways,” he told People Magazine. But not only do they let Malia (16) and Sasha (13) listen to Beyonce, they let them go to Beyoncé concerts and be in her sex presence.

And given how wonderfully parental they are in other ways, Huckabee says, he’s just confused:

“That’s the whole point. I don’t understand how on one hand they can be such doting parents and so careful about the intake of everything -– how much broccoli they eat and where they go to school and making sure they’re kind of sheltered and shielded from so many things -– and yet they don’t see anything that might not be suitable for either a preteen or a teen in some of the lyrical content and choreography of Beyoncé, who has sort of a regular key to the door” of the White House.

So who is a good example? Huckabee lists Jennifer Lawrence (awesome), the Duggars from 19 Kids and Counting (sure, they hold the same values, we get it), and the movie Dallas Buyers’ Club (probably for the Matthew McConaughey.)

And, to his credit, he was well aware that people were going to be shocked by his calling out Beyoncé: “It’s like people are shocked that I would raise that as an issue. My response to that is, ‘Gee, the mouse took the cheese.'” It’s like he knew snarky bloggers who worship Beyoncé would write snarky posts about his disapproval of Beyonce…oh dear, we’ve been played.
