Limbaugh Defends Mars Water Skepticism: ‘There Is an Agenda Attached to This’

Rush Limbaugh yesterday raised the question of whether the announcement of liquid water on Mars is tied to the liberal climate change agenda, and today he followed up and said that his words got distorted.

For those out of the loop, Limbaugh yesterday expressed some pretty deep skepticism and said that because the Obama administration has “corrupted” agencies like NASA so much, it’s reasonable to ask, “What’s to stop them from making up something that happened on Mars that will help advance their left-wing agenda on this planet?”

Now, as for today, after bemoaning the distortions of the liberal media, Limbaugh simply said he “raised a question” and drew no conclusions. He pointed to a comment by a NASA official yesterday who said that at some point, “Mars suffered a major climate change and lost its surface water.”

And to Limbaugh, that’s too much of a “wild guess” to not be skeptical about.

“The very fact that my objection to this is being noted,” he mused, “is proof positive that there is an agenda attached to this, otherwise they would leave my comments alone. There is an agenda attached to it and they’ve got to try to discredit anyone… who is attempting to attach whatever they’re doing with Mars and the news they’re reporting to the Democrat leftist agenda, which of course is climate change.”

He also made an observation about NASA’s “Muslim outreach” in the Obama years, presumably referring to this.
