The arrest came just after Paul spoke with reporters in Kentucky and dove into the details of the threats.
“This man had threatened to kill me and chop up my family with an ax,” the senator said, describing threats made to his home state office in Bowling Green, Kentucky. “It’s just horrendous that we’re having to deal with things like this.”

This incident comes just months after Paul was assaulted by his neighbor over a lawn dispute, which resulted in the senator breaking several ribs. Additionally, Paul was one of the Republican lawmakers caught in the baseball field shooting that took place in Alexandria, Virginia last summer and led to House Whip Steve Scalise getting shot.
