MSNBC Panelist Makes Impassioned Remarks on Gaza Violence: ‘All Those People Are Dead’ and We’re Talking Politics
— Meet the Press (@MeetThePress) May 14, 2018
There’s been a lot of foreign policy news today thanks to the opening of the U.S. embassy in Jerusalem, and of course, there has been a lot of media chatter about the broader implications for domestic American politics. However, when Eddie Glaude Jr. spoke about all of this on MSNBC, he reminded his fellow panelists that the world can’t forget that there are dozens of dead bodies in Gaza right now.
The Princeton professor was on Meet The Press on Monday, during which he emphatically denounced the killings at the border.
“All of those babies are dead. All of those people are dead,” Glaude said. “They’re dead and we’re talking about race horses. There are a lot of folks who are dead today. For what? I’m sorry, this is me being a moralist, I suppose.”
Roughly 2,700 people were wounded and at least 50 people were killed.
Glaude also slammed the White House for suggesting that the violence was all part of Hamas’ propaganda campaign.
“That’s like saying the children in the Children’s March of Birmingham – it was their fault that Bull Connor attacked them.”
