Never Change, Kentucky: Man Hilariously Wears ‘Young and Gettin It’ Shirt During Live News Shot
The tornados that have whipped through parts of Kentucky this week are no laughing matter; ten people have been injured in Mayfield, and people continue to struggle through flooding and damage as a result of the storms.
What is a laughing matter, however, is this Kentucky man who wore the world’s greatest shirt during a news live shot on WPSD in Paducah.
Accompanied by his partner — whose descriptions of the storm are amazing in their own right — the mustachioed man (probably in his 60s?) can be seen clearly rocking a Young and Gettin It shirt with zero shame to his name.
“I was hollering ‘Jesus! Jesus! Jesus!'” recounted the woman, who credited her faith as the reason that she safely escaped the twister without danger. As for our dapper hero identified in the segment as Kentucky’s own Alan?
“I told her to lay down, and I covered her over,” he said simply and with all the humility you would expect from a grown man in a music festival tee-shirt.
For those of you who may not be hip-hop aficionados like me and Kentucky’s Alan here, ‘Young and Gettin It’ is the name of a song by Meek Mill and Kirko Bangz. “Why you hatin’ on me? / I’m just livin’ my life” is the hook to the track to those of you interested.
If the phrase, “Youth is a state of mind,” doesn’t apple to Alan, then I really don’t know who it applies to. If any loyal Mediaite reader happens to have an extra ‘Young and Getting It’ shirt, I will 100% wear it in our next video or Facebook live broadcast to celebrate Alan’s awesomeness, no questions asked.
Watch the above interview from WPSD, and then rewatch it again and again because it’s definitely the best part of your Wednesday morning.
