Publicist Reads Fiery Statement From Camille Cosby Following Mistrial, Calls Media ‘Blatantly Vicious’
Following the declaration of a mistrial this morning in the Bill Cosby indecent assault trial, the comedian’s wife released a statement that was read outside of the courtroom. And in a word, it was intense.
In the prepared and signed statement that was read aloud by a member of Cosby’s PR firm, Camille Cosby took direct aim at the district attorney, judge and media.
How do I describe the district attorney? Heinously and exploitatively ambitious. How do I describe the judge? Overtly arrogant in collaborating with the district attorney. How do I describe the counsels for the accusers? Totally unethical. How do I describe many but not all general media? Blatantly vicious entities that continually disseminated intentional omissions of truth for the primary purpose of greedily selling sensationalism at the expense of a human life.
After the jury deliberated for 52 hours over a period of five days without reaching a verdict, Judge Steven O’Neill finally declared a mistrial on Saturday morning. Cosby was facing three charges of aggravated indecent assault. Prosecutors have already stated they will retry the case.
Following the mistrial declaration, Bill Cosby remained silent, relying on his publicists and attorneys to speak for him.
