Not even two weeks after the horrific shooting at a congressional baseball practice, TV’s (and real life’s) ‘Meathead’, Rob Reiner, has declared an ‘all out war’ against Donald Trump after accusing the President of ‘treason’.
Apparently, despite any evidence, the Hollywood director is convinced that the Trump campaign colluded with Russian state actors to influence the 2016 U.S. presidential election, and that Fox News’
coverage of the non-incident requires a “war” to save democracy and the nation.
“When Fox says that DT colluding with the enemy is not a crime, the fight to save Democracy is now an all out war,” Reiner tweeted. “US-Stay strong”, adding a“treason” hashtag.

Reiner is no stranger to saying inflammatory things. He once told MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” that Trump’s success during his presidential campaign was thanks to “a lot of people who are racists”.
Reiner once claimed that the election of Donald Trump was not ‘normal’ and compared the alleged Russian hack to the 1941 attack on Pearl Harbor.
“There’s a danger here of normalizing things. This is not normal. We’ve had the greatest attack on this democracy since 1941, and we have to understand that,” he began. “Where are our Republican leaders — elected leaders — standing up and saying, ‘We’ve been attacked here, our democracy is being compromised?’
The backlash to Reiner’s comments were not simply because of the content but the timing, given the recent call from both sides of the political aisle for more civility in politics.
The National Review’s Kevin Williamson tweeted, “Maybe wait a few months past the last time someone on your team tried to assassinate a congressman before calling for “all-out war.”
