Rush Limbaugh Defends Trump’s Big Nuclear Button Tweet: Fight ‘Lunatics’ With More Lunacy

Rush Limbaugh has endorsed President Donald Trump’s style of nuclear-button-measuring-contest diplomacy, with the talk radio giant declaring it is necessary to fight “lunatics” — like North Korean leader Kim Jong-un — with more lunacy.

Earlier this week, Trump fired off one of his craziest tweets yet, suggesting that he has a “bigger” and better working nuclear button than Jong-un — a post that one could forgive us as reading as sexual innuendo.

While the president was roundly ridiculed by most in media for handling a nuclear stand-off in such a childish manner, Limbaugh defended Trump by suggesting he was incorporating some kind of “brilliant” Madman Theory foreign policy.

In today’s airing of The Rush Limbaugh Show, he said the following:

“Trump’s brilliant. He knows who he’s dealing with and how to reach them. And if you’re dealing with lunatics and if you’re dealing with the insane, throw it back at ’em. You know, throw a little unpredictability and lunaticism back at them. And it discombobulates ’em — and in fact it is. Kim Jong-un is confused. Kim Jong-un doesn’t know how to deal with Trump.”

Limbaugh went on to say that Trump’s tactics have proven to be effective as Jong-un — who the host referred to as a “little pot-bellied dictator” — is contacting “Washington liberals” for help in deciphering his intentions.

In typical Rush-fashion, he also used the Trump tweet to hammer the “drive-by media” for overreacting.

“You know another thing they’re mad about? They’re mad that there hasn’t been a similar eruption — I mean, the left did, of course. But there hasn’t been a nationwide negative reaction to Trump’s tweet,” he said.
