Sally Yates: It ‘Takes Less Than 140 Characters’ to Condemn Nazis, KKK, White Supremacists

Former Deputy Attorney General Sally Yates weighed in on the violence that took place in Charlottesville, Virginia.

She tweeted the following:

Short, sweet, and less than 140 characters.

Yates has opined on current events numerous times since she was fired by President Trump for not honoring his travel ban back in January. Last month, she criticized the president for his attacks on the Department of Justice in regards to the ongoing Russia investigation, saying his “attack on Russia recusal reveals yet again his violation of the essential independence of DOJ, a bedrock principle of our democracy.”

She also wrote an op-ed in The Washington Post blasting Attorney General Jeff Sessions for his crackdown on drug crimes.

It was revealed after her firing that Yates, who was the acting Attorney General before Sessions was confirmed, warned the Trump White House that she feared then-National Security Advisor Gen. Michael Flynn could have been vulnerable to blackmail by the Russians. She confirmed that February report when she testified at a Senate hearing on the Russia investigation.
