‘There Are No Words’: J.K. Rowling and Other Celebrities React to Alan Rickman’s Passing

This morning, the film and theater world lost one of its favorites with Alan Rickman‘s death from cancer. Beyond his versatility in characters, the award-winning British actor was known for his baritone voice, his forays into writing and directing, and his impeccable ability to play the villain.

As the news broke of his passing, fans, former colleagues, and celebrities of all kinds took to Twitter in a global outpouring of grief and sympathy for his family and friends.

BBC also noted how Harry Potter co-actor Michael Gambon said that Rickman was a “great friend,” and Ang Lee, who directed Rickman in Sense and Sensibility, called him a “brilliant actor” and a “great human being”.

The world will miss you Mr. Rickman.
