‘They Don’t Have the Best Track Record’: White House Spox Responds to Obama’s Denial of Wiretap Claim

While appearing on ABC’s This Week, White House deputy press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders was asked about the response from former President Barack Obama’s spokesperson regarding President Donald Trump’s explosive claims that Obama wiretapped phones in Trump Tower before the election.

“President Obama, through a spokesman, denied any direct involvement,” host Martha Raddatz said. “Does President Trump not believe him?”

“Well, I think, they don’t have the best track record,” Sanders replied. “They said they had a cardinal rule, well frankly that’s just not true.”

She continued, “The president himself got directly involved when it came to the email scandal with Hillary Clinton.”

“So you do not believe him?” Raddatz pressed.

“I’m just not buying that,” Sanders stated.
