Progressive Podcasters Salute MTG and Tucker Carlson for Starting Anti-Trump Party: ‘Even Crazy People Can Be Right’
Tucker Carlson and Marjorie Taylor Greene are getting praised for ditching the Republicans and starting their own political party by two of the biggest left-wing pundits around.
Progressive podcasters Jennifer Welch and Angie “Pumps” Sullivan on Monday saluted the two ex-friends of President Donald Trump for teaming up to launch an “America First” party, with the help of outgoing Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) and former Director of the National Counterterrorism Center Joe Kent.
“I think all three are batsh*t crazy, but even crazy people can be right about certain issues,” Welch said about MTG, Carlson, and Massie on the latest episode of I’ve Had It.
Welch continued by saluting the anti-MAGA crew for realizing Trump has failed to uphold most of his campaign promises, in her view.
“They see that this guy’s half dead. They see that he is a lame duck. They see that he is batsh*t crazy,” Welch said. “They see that he only polls well with the cult, the batsh*t crazy Fox News cult. That’s it. Those are the only people that approve of him.”
She offered her take two days after MTG posted a picture of her, Carlson, Kent, and Massie all gathered around a wooden table and munching on chocolate chip cookies and milk. But it wasn’t just a relaxed hangout with friends, according to MTG; The former Republican congresswoman suggested they were busy plotting a new political party.
“We said no more foreign wars and we meant it and supported Donald Trump because he made that promise. But he’s betrayed us all,” Greene wrote. “Our commitment is America First for all Americans, right, left, and center.”
“The movement has begun,” Greene capped off her post.
Their chummy strategy session followed Carlson and MTG officially ditching the Republican Party in June. Carlson pointed to Trump’s ties to Israel as one of the main reasons he was sickened by the GOP.
“How could I or any American voter support a political party that’s not loyal to the United States. That puts the interests of a foreign country above those of its own citizens,” Carlson said. “It’s not possible to vote for people like that, and I’m not going to.”
Welch on Monday said her fellow liberals better not underestimate the Trump-hating gang’s political power.
“If the Democrats don’t tune in to what’s next after MAGA, we’re gonna get our asses beat again,” Welch warned.
She added a moment later, “You guys, I have been saying this forever. They are going to do an America First platform. It’s going to hit hard in flyover states, it’s going to hit hard when they say ‘no mo money for Israel, because we need to afford hospitals and schools here.’ The Democrats should be leading on this.”
