Trailer For Dick Cheney Biopic is Out, and You Won’t Recognize the A-Lister Playing the Former Veep
The first trailer for the much-anticipated new biopic on former Vice President Dick Cheney is out — and just wait until you get a look at the Hollywood A-lister playing the lead role.
The film, titled Vice, boasts — among its star-studded cast — Sam Rockwell as former President George W. Bush, Amy Adams as Lynne Cheney, and Steve Carell as Donald Rumsfeld.
And the star? Christian Bale as Dick Cheney.
We were skeptical too, we’ll admit. But in the trailer, you’ll see that Bale is Dick Cheney. It’s a truly remarkable transformation.
Directed by Adam McKay of The Big Short fame, the movie appears to portray Cheney as the true power broker in the Bush administration. Cheney is seen offering himself up for the “mundane jobs” in the White House such as; overseeing the military, energy, and foreign policy. Rockwell’s Bush — an apparent takeoff from his Oscar-winning performance as a dimwitted police officer in Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri — heartily accepts Cheney’s proposal with a grin.
Vice is set for a Christmas release, which would seem to suggest that the studio believes it has a chance at winning some Oscars. If nothing else, it’s a shoo-in for Best Makeup.
