White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders will hold a briefing today to discuss the administration’s latest plans and administrative agenda.
This is the first briefing of the week — as Sanders opted to skip Monday’s session in deference to President Donald Trump‘s speech in New Hampshire on the opioid crisis.
Today’s session could focus on a variety of subjects; the press corps seems likely to inquire about Trump’s Tuesday morning call with Vladimir Putin — in which Trump congratulated the Russian president on his election victory.
Sanders could also be asked to address the president’s weekend Tweet storm lashing out against special counsel Robert Mueller’s probe. Trump, over the weekend, referred to Mueller by name for the first time in a Tweet. His lawyer, John Dowd, also called for the probe to be shut down.
Other potential topics, the latest on Stormy Daniels — as 60 Minutes prepares to air an interview with the porn star this Sunday night about her alleged tryst with the president.
The briefing is slated to begin at 1:30 p.m. ET. Watch above, via the White House.
