Rosie O’Donnell Admits ‘Horrible’ Trump Is the Only Reason She’s Still Relevant: ‘I’m Re-Famous’

Rosie O’Donnell offered some rare credit to President Donald Trump, admitting her long-running public feud with him is why she’s in the midst of a “re-famous” comeback.

O’Donnell spoke about her decades-long adversarial relationship with Trump on the Good Hang podcast with Amy Poehler this week. Trump has taken public shots at O’Donnell since his first 2016 presidential campaign, but their feud dates all the way back to a tense interview in 2006 when O’Donnell was co-hosting The View.

“I feel like recently I’m re-famous,” O’Donnell told Poehler. “That’s what I feel. I told my kids, well kids, hold on ’cause mommy’s re-famous. I don’t know how it happened. I think it’s Mango Mussolini.”

She added that Trump would not mention her publicly again if he knew how much it is “helping” her career.

“I think it’s him who did it. He didn’t know. If he knew how much he was helping my career and my life, he would shut up about me because, you know, he’s a horrible creature,” O’Donnell said.

The comedian and actress moved to Ireland after the 2024 presidential election, saying it was the “safest” move for her family.

“It’s not easy to move to another country, and we really felt as a family this was the safest and best thing for us to do,” she said in a TikTok video last year.

Trump took a shot at O’Donnell after she revealed her move. In a meeting at the White House with Taoiseach (Irish prime minister) Micheál Martin, Trump jokingly told him, “you’re better off,” after Martin appeared not to know who O’Donnell was.

In a July post that same year to Truth Social, Trump called O’Donnell a “threat to humanity” and threatened her citizenship.

“Because of the fact that Rosie O’Donnell is not in the best interests of our Great Country, I am giving serious consideration to taking away her Citizenship,” he wrote. “She is a Threat to Humanity, and should remain in the wonderful Country of Ireland, if they want her. GOD BLESS AMERICA!”
