Why Won’t He?!:” Maher Enlists Audience to Sign Petition For Obama to Do His Show
On the occasion of his impending 60th birthday, Bill Maher made a special wish that he needs the Real Time audience to help out with. It turns out that despite all of the support he has shown President Obama over the years (a sampling of which Maher replayed in the segment), despite having given $1 million to a SuperPAC supporting his 2012 re-election (which Bill didn’t bring up), Obama has never done his show.
In an attempt to remedy that situation before Obama leaves office, Maher asked his audience to sign a petition at the White House’s We the People site:
WE PETITION THE OBAMA ADMINISTRATION TO:
Ask President Obama to Appear on HBO’s Real Time with Bill Maher
Herewith, on the occasion of Bill Maher’s 60th birthday, we the people, especially viewers of Real Time with Bill Maher, respectfully request that President Obama appear on Real Time and thereby honor that particular audience (and their support for him), as he has so honored the viewers of so many other TV shows and media outlets; or if not, to please, respectfully, tell us why.
If the petition reaches 100,000 signatures within 30 day, the White House will have to at least respond. At this time, it’s still a little short.
