Representative Steve King is known for incendiary comments about race and immigration.
Yesterday, when news broke that under Donald Trump, a protected DREAMer had been deported, he celebrated with a tweet about his beer, which he dedicated to law enforcement. As far as King’s tweets go, this one was relatively tame. (Remember “other people’s babies?”) Still, people are really riled up about this one.
There were calls for boycotts of his donors.

Good ol’ boy @SteveKingIA enjoyed seeing a legal Dreamer get wrongfully deported. BTW his biggest campaign donor is Blue Bunny Ice Cream!

Disgusting as a US Congressman (& bigot) tweets a picture of a beer-celebrating the deportation of a young man who lived here since he was 9 https://t.co/hgzD7Vtijz

OMG. A 23yo DACA recipient who’s been in this country since age 9 has been deported to Mexico and Steve King is having a beer to celebrate. https://t.co/B5RUpnUldK

King revels in the suffering of this poor kid who’s done nothing wrong except be born to parents who immigrated to the US. Turns my stomach. https://t.co/NpPKHHDhYH

DREAMers are the future of our country. You don’t belong in Congress. https://t.co/NqrQYorJFE

I’m like 51% sure that Steve King isn’t aware Jesus Christ was brown and didn’t speak a lick of English.

@SteveKingIA There is something deeply wrong with you.

A number focused on encouraging others to vote him out of office, specifically by electing Kim Weaver.
