Hasan Piker Opposes Violent Rhetoric Aimed at Him — After Years Calling for the Murder of His Opponents

It is a hallmark of socialists and communists to become ensnared by their own policies. It is something else entirely when the mouthpieces come out with outrage how their own behavior is generating a response in kind.
Hasan Piker has become quite the lightning rod for the Democratic Party this year. Initially regarded as a vital voice on the Left, after courting his attention the man has only managed to become a thorn in the side of the party that enthusiastically tightened his cactus belt around its waist.
Piker has been acting with an air of invincibility, as he throws in with a variety of DSA candidates finding purchase in the electorate. Just as the Dems and the press have had many voices rising to say they need to distance themselves from his controversial positions, Piker is connected to the desperately needed victories in various primaries They appear stuck with him at the moment.
As a result, recalibration of his positions has been the needed tactic, but the man refuses to follow suit and alter his outlandish commentary. So it is with amusement we see this creating its own boomerang effect.
Over the weekend, Piker came out with a complaint regarding a comment made about him by Trumpian figure Laura Loomer. The claim: That Loomer had called for a hit to be performed on Piker.
prominent maga crazy laura loomer, actively contracting a hit out on me. https://t.co/1yHO1J8KbY

It is not too difficult to see him making quite a stretch with this interpretation. There is no call for direct violence against him; as for the hyperbolic claim she is “contracting” for this to happen, that does not even warrant a comment.
But what does deserve recognition here is the way he suggests her words were problematic and deeply inappropriate, if not downright dangerous. Say what you will about Loomer’s choice of words – that they either were rather neutral or possibly crossed a line – what seems certain is that Piker has no such say in the matter.
This is because Hasan sports a history of freely saying far worse in the form of calling for violence. He did so regarding both those people in prominent positions and others who are below his own station in society. To watch Piker feign being a trembling, concerned figure is too much to digest.
This is the man who had infamously called for Senator Rick Scott to be murdered by his followers. That led to his being suspended on the Twitch platform, forcing him to recant his words in order to be reinstated.
Just a week after that verbal hand grenade, Piker was on a New York Times podcast, and on the topic of the assassination of United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson, he was enthusiastic about the justification behind that hit.
Hasan also called for violence against another streamer, Ethan Klein, as the pair had been engaged in a lengthy feud of words. And he does not reserve this lack of reservations over violence for prominent individuals.
He has openly supported the mass killing of individuals on his broadcast, to say nothing of his comments about the 9/11 attacks. Even the defenders who want to say those are quotes from years back, have to ignore his contemporary interviews where he was presented those very quotes, and he refused to disavow his words.
And that is the very challenge for the Democrats and Piker’s acolytes. You cannot sweep away the invective attached to his name as youthful indiscretions, when all of the above examples involve his verbal favoring of violence within the past year. He has demonstrated this is his foundational opinion.
It is for this reason that sympathy over this “plight” over Loomer’s words does not generate sympathy. To see him complaining about the violent rhetoric from her generates a reaction such as, “Huh…you don’t say…”
Except, of course, he did say. Worse. Repeatedly.
