Trump Says ‘We Have Jihadists Being Elected’ in Oval Office Screed Against Dems

President Donald Trump accused the Democratic Party of successfully getting “jihadists” elected during a Monday press conference at the White House.

The president was asked for his take on the candidates the Democrats are trotting out heading into the 2026 midterms when he made the claim.

“We have jihadists being elected all over the place,” Trump said.

Trump did not call out any politicians in particular, but it comes a week after he slammed Muslim Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed for winning Michigan’s Democratic primary. The president said the state had a “corrupt” voting system and had morphed into being “strictly Third World.”

He told reporters on Monday a friend called him up recently and suggested the president use the term “jihadist,” and Trump agreed it was apt, just like his claim the Democratic Party is being swallowed up by communists.

“[In] other countries, I think that’s not gonna be necessarily the way we want to live,” Trump said. “But when you look at the radicalism and the craziness of the candidates and the stupidity of what they’re suggesting — let’s get rid of the Supreme Court, let’s get rid of the presidency, let’s get rid of the Senate — sometimes I’d like to get rid of the Senate too, but I don’t say it.”

He continued, “These are people that have been not successful. They’re people that have been, in many cases, failures. They come from other failed countries and they come here how to run our country. They come from places like I won’t mention because I don’t want to get myself into controversy.”

Trump then changed his mind two seconds later and said, “They come from let’s say, as an example, Somalia.”

The president has ripped Somalia before, including last year when he said he did not want more Somali immigrants moving to the States.

“They contribute nothing. I don’t want them in our country, I’ll be honest with you,” Trump said at the time. “Some will say that is not ‘politically correct.’” I don’t care. Their country is no good for a reason.”

He finished his mini-rant on Monday by saying the American people don’t want “radical lunatics” like the ones being trotted out by the Dems to run the country.
