Sarah Sanders Condemns ‘Violent Attack on Innocent Journalists Doing their Job’

On Thursday, White House press secretary Sarah Sanders issued a strong condemnation against the “violent attack” that cost the lives of Capital Gazette journalists who were just doing their job.

“Strongly condemn the evil act of senseless violence in Annapolis, MD,” she tweeted out after at least five were killed and other injured in the mass shooting.  “A violent attack on innocent journalists doing their job is an attack on every American. Our prayers are with the victims and their friends and families.”

Sanders’ tweet comes after a White House spox Lindsay Walters was asked on Air Force One, in wake of the shooting, about Trump’s frequent criticism of the press.

She responded: “There is no room for violence in our country.”

President Donald Trump has also responded to mass shooting, offering his “thoughts and prayers.”
