Decision Desk HQ placed former President Donald Trump’s chances of winning Georgia at nearly 80% on Tuesday evening.
After polls closed in the key state, Decision Desk’s Election Pulse — which is their version of The New York Times needle — rose to 79.6% for Trump shortly after 8 p.m. ET. Vice President Kamala Harris’s chances dropped to just 21%, according to DDHQ Election Pulse.
President Joe Biden won the state of Georgia in 2020 by a margin of just 0.3%. In 2016, Trump won the state with 50.4% of the vote.
