Karoline Leavitt Confronted About MAGA Influencers Denouncing Trump On Epstein

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt on Thursday was asked about the MAGA influencers who have opposed President Donald Trump’s stance on the Jeffrey Epstein files.

Epstein, the financier and child sex trafficker who took his own life in 2019, has become a topic of great debate again after his case was effectively close by the Department of Justice and Attorney General Pam Bondi. In a memo released last week, the DOJ concluded that the “Epstein list” of rumored associates did not actually exist — contradicted previous claims that the administration was in possession of the list.

The move has left Trump’s base still. While some agree with the president that the issue is overblown and should be put behind everyone, others have felt betrayed. A number of influencers — including Benny Johnson and Nick Fuentes — have publicly criticized the administration.

Asked by Politico’s Dasha Burns if the president had been in touch with the social media influencers who were so crucial to his victory in 2024, Leavitt said:

Well, look, the president and this team are always in contact with the president’s supporters — with voices of many kinds on both sides of the aisle. I think that’s part of the reason this president is a great president, because he’s willing to listen and hear other people’s perspectives; but, ultimately, he has led this country not just over the past six months to historic success, but also through his first four years as president. And as the leader and the creator of the MAGA movement, he has led through these perilous times for our country based on instinct and in the best interest of the country; and as I always say, the American people should trust in President Trump.
