Victor Davis Hanson Slams Tucker Carlson’s ‘Incoherent’ Third Party Plan

Victor Davis Hanson skewered Tucker Carlson’s push to start a new political party, with the veteran conservative pundit arguing Carlson and his cronies are fueled by “anti-Semitic anger” and a burning desire to sabotage their former hero, President Donald Trump.

Hanson spared no punches in his review of Carlson’s plot on the Thursday episode of his podcast for The Daily Signal.

He shared his take after Carlson and former Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene — another ex-MAGA fan — recently posted a picture together, with Greene saying they were scheming an “America First” movement after Trump “betrayed” them and millions of others. Their milk-and-cookies-fueled meeting also included lame duck Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) and Joe Kent, the former director of the National Counterterrorism Center.

“I don’t know the purpose of what the Tucker Carlson group is, because historically it would suggest that all they want to do is make sure that Donald Trump’s successor, JD Vance or Marco Rubio, loses the 2028 election,” Hanson said.

And soon after the big summit, Carlson released his 10-point manifesto for fixing the USA, which included a call to stop funding Israel’s “genocide” in Gaza and a push to hold politicians accountable for lying.

Hanson scoffed at Carlson’s manifesto on his podcast. He said Carlson and Greene are getting most of what they want already— like a crackdown on illegal immigration and the gutting of DEI programs — thanks to Trump.

“It seems kind of incoherent because its ideology is 80-85% identical to the Trump Administration,” Hanson said.

Hanson — who was a recurring guest on Carlson’s old Fox News show — then branded Carlson and Co. as MAGA traitors.

“Most of the people who are guiding this movement owe allegiance to Donald Trump, who has helped them in the past. They turned on [him], they had fights, so much of their zeal is personal angst,” he said.

He then finished by calling out Carlson’s fixation on Israel, after the ex-cable news star ha said Trump is too “weak” to stop Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu from pushing him around.

“And finally, there is an element of anti-Israelism and anti-Semitic anger that also fuels it,” Hanson said about the Carlson-MTG movement. “It’s not going to go anywhere, but it may, as it’s designed, as spoilers, try to hurt someone they once and very recently assured us was essential to the United States, which is the Trump-MAGA agenda.”
