‘Woof!’ CNN Data Guru Breaks Down Trump’s Top 5 ‘Biggest Drops’ in Polling

The polls aren’t pretty.

President Donald Trump is grappling with some unsavory numbers on issues from the Iran war to the economy, and CNN chief data analyst Harry Enten has been monitoring it all like a hawk.

Enten broke down the five biggest drops in net favorability for Trump from his first term to his second term in an exclusive clip posted to YouTube on Saturday, complete with Enten busting out multiple props and hitting the president with four “woofs” to drive home how ugly the polls are.

Here’s how he ranked ’em:

5. Corruption

Trump’s approval rating on the topic of “corruption” went from -13% at this point in his first term to -31% currently. What’s behind the 18% drop? The president’s business dealings.

“It may have something to do with his investments,” Enten explained. “Trump earning, get this, over $2 billion— billion with a “B” — in term number two from crypto and other income.”

He pointed to a July CNN poll where 57% of Americans said it was “bad” Trump had made so much dough.

4. Government Spending

Enten said the One Big Beautiful Bill added $4 trillion to the debt — and sent Trump’s approval rating on gov spending from -12% to -34%. He then pulled out a sheet of paper with red marker on it reading “DOWN = BAD” to make it really clear for the thicker CNN viewers.

“A 22% drop. Woof!” Enten said.

He then quipped the Yankees have a higher net approval rating in Boston than Trump does on government spending.

3. Iran war

“Come on, I think it’s fairly obvious,” Enten said. “I think we all know Americans don’t like this if you’ve been following the polls.”

Trump’s approval rating on Iran went from -9% to -36% currently. Enten said it’s because 75% of citizens don’t think the war is worth it — and then pulled out an old school phone with a cord and urged the president to call any American and ask what they think; chances are, they’re not thrilled.

Another 88% of Americans said the president has not achieved his goals with the war.

Enten then popped open a Diet Coke before hitting his next topic…

2. Jobs

Trump has went form +9% on jobs to -22% right now.

Enten said a big reason is because of manufacturing jobs — Trump “fulfilled” his promise by adding 342,000 jobs by this time in his first term; right now he’s actually down 50,000 jobs, according to Enten.

1. Economy

Enten used James Carville’s line, “It’s the economy, stupid” to call out Trump’s biggest drop in the polls. He then kept his Carrot Top-esque segment going by grabbing a retro calculator to do the math on how bad it is for Trump. And it is bad, with Trump plummeting 42 points from +9% in his first term to -33% currently.

“Simply put: it’s inflation,” Enten said.

He said inflation wasn’t even polled as an issue at this point in Trump’s first term, but he now has a -50% approval rating in CNN’s latest poll.

“I went back through the history books… no president before President Trump had a negative 50 point or worse net approval rating on inflation.”

Enten added this is giving the Democrats great odds of winning the House — more than 80% — and a good shot at the Senate too (around 46%) in November.

Watch above.
