CNN’s Phil Mudd: FBI’s ‘Ticked’ at Trump Over Memo and They’re ‘Going to Win’ in End
Former CIA counterterrorism official Phil Mudd: The FBI people "are ticked" and they'll be saying of Trump, “You’ve been around for 13 months. We've been around since 1908. I know how this game is going to be played. We're going to win" https://t.co/5x39x20g3e pic.twitter.com/fByOLNrh0I

CNN counterterrorism analyst Phil Mudd is known for making provocative on-air remarks and generally being fired up during segments. A CNN appearance on Friday, however, may end up being his most notorious yet.
Hours after the controversial Nunes memo dropped, Mudd indicated that the FBI was going to take matters into its own hands and make sure they eventually come out on top in a head-to-head battle with the president. With the FBI and its director already making their objections to the memo — which purports to show FISA abuses within the Russia probe — crystal clear before its release, Mudd said that agents at the bureau are angry and will stop President Donald Trump from dismantling the Russia investigation.
“The workforce will look at this and say this is an attack on our ability to conduct an investigation with integrity,” he exclaimed during a CNN panel discussion. “There are hundreds of agents and analysts working. This not just Christopher Wray, the FBI director.”
He continued, “So I’m going to tell you the FBI people are ticked. If you think you can push us off this because you can intimidate the director, you’d better think again. You’ve been around for 13 months. We’ve been around since 1908. I know how this game is going to be played. We’re going to win.”
Following Mudd’s Friday segment, a number of folks pointed to his comments as confirming conservative complaints that there’s an anti-Trump “Deep State” within the FBI.
If you don’t want Trump muttering about the “deep state,” maybe try not to sound like a cartoon version of a “deep state” villain https://t.co/RnWxDjO3Iw

The most disturbing piece of video you’ll see all day. I already knew Phil Mudd to be a police-state supporter but that he so proudly vocalizes it on a national cable network is beyond troubling. #MemoDay https://t.co/mIrPGtcG2h

CNN's Phil Mudd once worked for Mueller—and comes off as the kind of guy who could've been a corrupt FBI official. If he's right about FBI field agents and lower level FBI workers, he's proving Trump's and the GOP's corruption point. Hope he's wrong or America's in huge trouble. pic.twitter.com/VWHkjmC7D9

"They will destroy you if you allow the public to see political abuse of their powers!" is a fun way to confirm the accusation. https://t.co/gMui5naLHb

Anyone questioning why a FORMER CIA official wants to add kerosene to the tense situation between FBI & White House? Is this manipulation, propaganda or stupidity? Regardless, very dangerous as Mudd is saying a Govmt agency is more powerful than an office elected by the people. https://t.co/QQnLkwKV3D

Thinking people: This memo is overstated and lacks evidence. The FBI is not a rogue institution.
Mudd: Hold my beer. https://t.co/njihw9meVU
