CNN’s Phil Mudd Loses it on Trump in Slur Filled Rant: ‘I’m a Proud Sh*tholer!’
“Close your ears, Wolf,” CNN’s Phil Mudd said, warning Situation Room anchor Wolf Blitzer that a rant was coming.
Mudd, you see, was furious (and we can’t emphasize that enough) over the Washington Post reported comment by President Donald Trump from a bipartisan meeting on immigration Thursday:
“Why are we having all these people from shithole countries come here?,” Trump reportedly said — referring to African countries, El Salvador, and Haiti.
Mudd — who identified as hailing from Irish and Italian ancestry — cited slurs used against immigrants from those countries as well as others in his epic denunciation of the president.
“I’m a proud shitholer!” Mudd exclaimed. He added, “In the 1940s, we called people traitors because they came from a shithole country we call Japan. And we’re ashamed.”
Mudd added, “We’ve learned too many lessons, and history will tell you, if you don’t read history, you’ll repeat ’em. That’s what our president did for us today. I am not proud.”
