A former spokesman for the Department of Justice said that as far as he’s concerned, FBI Director James Comey overstepped his bounds and “threw a hand grenade into the middle of the election.”
Last night Miller told Fox’s Ed Henry that the letter almost certainly changed the direction and outcome of the race. Henry asked him if that’s really a certainty.
Miller said there was certainly a possibility Clinton could have won, despite her flaws, if that letter didn’t come out.
Henry told Miller that the head of the FBI is supposed to be independent and not be subjected to partisan interference. Miller countered that he’s also “supposed to follow the rules” and shouldn’t have broken protocol with those disclosures.
He wishes that Comey would publicly own up to his mistakes.
