FNC’s John Roberts Rips Don Lemon For Claiming Fox News Didn’t Cover Hope Hicks Resignation (UPDATE)

Fox News correspondent John Roberts railed against Don Lemon on Thursday, after the CNN anchor claimed the rival network was not covering the bombshell resignation of White House communications director Hope Hicks.

Lemon took a veiled swipe at Fox News on his CNN show Wednesday night, during a discussion of Hicks’ resignation, referring to the network as “Trump TV or state-run TV”:

“I was sitting in my office and was watching all the news channels, right — Trump TV or state-run TV, they’re not even reporting this,” Lemon said. “So, Trump supporters, they don’t even know about these stories, it doesn’t even register, that’s the amazing thing. We cover all of these things every day. The White House imploding behind him, and he’s standing there going, ‘nothing to see here.'”

“His supporters probably don’t even realize the extent of it,” Lemon added.

As it turns out Roberts — a veteran journalist serving as Fox News’ White House correspondent — covered the resignation extensively on the network, and took to Twitter to respond to Lemon’s comments.

“WE REPORTED IT MULTIPLE TIMES,” Roberts tweeted in all-caps, to really hammer the point home. “I REPORTED IT ON NEIL CAVUTO’S SHOW – AND ON THE FIVE. AND AGAIN AT THE TOP OF THE 6PM SHOW. AND WE DID IT AT THE TOP OF THE 7PM SHOW. CLEARLY SOMEONE IS NOT WATCHING FOX, BUT SAYING THEY ARE.”

For the record, Roberts first covered news of the Hicks resignation at 4:40 p.m. EST, some ten minutes after New York Times reporter Maggie Haberman first broke the news.

Roberts also responded to the story on Lemon’s comments with an astounded “Whaaaaaaaa?????”
