Fox News’ MacCallum: Trump-Morning Joe Story Is ‘Navel-Gazing Egoism at Its Absolute Worst’

Fox News’ Martha MacCallum bemoaned all attention being given to the feud between President Trump and Morning Joe hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski.

Fox News politics editor Chris Stirewalt lamented “the waste of it all” and said it’s a little ridiculous that the man with George Washington‘s job is “locked in a petty fight with cable news hosts.”

MacCallum agreed and said, “This is like navel-gazing egoism at its absolute worst… It feels icky.”

She said a lot of people just don’t care about all this inside baseball stuff.

Eric Bolling argued that the President should “continue to tweet.” MacCallum said, “Not like that.” Bolling responded, “Maybe not.”

That one threw MacCallum and Stirewalt a bit, but Bolling argued that Trump’s style won him the presidency in the first place. At one point, MacCallum told Bolling that Trump was the one who made this a big issue in the first place.

The Federalist‘s Mollie Hemingway said that Trump’s voters like that he’s able to get combative with a “cartoonishly hostile” media.
