Geraldo Rivera Attacked For Defending Ocasio-Cortez in Heated Fox News Segment: ‘Socialism Kills People!’

Geraldo Rivera offered a defense of Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez tonight and clashed with both Sean Hannity and Dan Bongino.

Hannity opened his show tearing into the New York congresswoman, and when he brought the panel on, Rivera told him, “Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez makes a very convenient target. What, do you want her to be Gandhi? You want her to go begging with a wooden bowl?”

He said Democrats may ultimately hurt themselves as a result of their misguided “pursuit of these sophomoric goals,” but added, “To have the enthusiasm of youth being attacked that way, what if it was a young Irish kid who came from your neighborhood?”

“Stop with the identity! Stop!” Hannity said.

“I feel pride in her. She’s me at the age of 26,” Rivera continued. “She may have the most far-fetched ideas that are totally implausible or impractical, but she has heart.”

Bongino responded, “To say she has a heart… socialism doesn’t have a heart! Socialism kills people, Geraldo!”

“Socialism is over. Socialism is so yesterday,” Rivera said. “But let the kids enjoy! Let them revel in the possibility that everything can be wonderful.”

Bongino asked, “Would you say the same thing about fascism? What if Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez was promoting fascism? Would you say she has a heart?!”

“Of course not,” Rivera responded. “But she’s not… I am not a socialist, I am a capitalist, I am a Republican. But I understand the generosity of the concept of socialism.”

Both Hannity and Bongino were stunned to hear that.

Rivera did end the segment by saying “there’s no collusion” and Democrats “will kill themselves with these investigations.”
