Melania Trump Says ‘Don’t Care’ Jacket Was Message to ‘Left-Wing Media,’ Not Detained Immigrant Kids
On Friday night, ABC aired a one-hour extended interview with First Lady Melania Trump.
At one point, talk turned to why she wore the now infamous “I Really Don’t Care, Do U?” jacket to get on the plane to visit with detained immigrant kids.
The First Lady admitted that she was sending a message, but insisted the message was aimed at the media.
“You know, I often asking myself, if I would not wear that jacket, if I will have so much media coverage,” Mrs. Trump began.
She then stressed that the message was not aimed at the detained kids, but the “left-wing media” who criticize her.
“I want to show them that I don’t care,” she continued adding she deliberately wore the jacket on the way back home because of the media brouhaha.
“I put it back on because I see how media got obsessed about it,” she said.
