Televangelist Pat Robertson not only seemed to say that gay people are getting what they deserved with the Orlando Shooting on Sunday, he seemed delighted that it puts defenders of Islam and LGBT rights in a quagmire.
The 700 Club host used his show last night to blast President Obama and Hillary Clinton for their reluctance to say “radical Islamic terrorism” when “this is just what this great religion preaches.” Robertson continued to say that the horribleness in Florida is sure to fly in the face of the liberal “narrative” that both Muslims and the LGBT community must be respected.
“We’re looking at a favored group by the left, the homosexuals, and that in Islam is punishable by death or imprisonment or some sanction, so what are the left going to do?…In the meantime, Donald Trump is riding high because he said we should screen these people and he’s absolutely right. We should screen them. So the left is saying, ‘Oh you’re anti-Muslim, you’re racist’ and all this. Suddenly, that part of the narrative doesn’t play too well and they’re stuck as to what to do. But Trump is enjoying a victory.”
In terms of the “left’s” dilemma, Robertson opined that it would be best if conservatives stand aside and allow efforts for Islamic tolerance and LGBT equality to be set on a collision course with each other.
“The left is having a dilemma of major proportions and I think for those of us who disagree with some of their policies, the best thing to do is to sit on the sidelines and let them kill themselves,” Robertson said.
