Scarborough Slams GOP House Intel ‘Report Made For Talk Radio’: ‘Everybody Knows They’re Lying’

MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough slammed the conclusions of House Intelligence Committee Republicans who announced on Monday that their investigation found no evidence of collusion between President Donald Trump’s campaign and Russia during the 2016 election.

Rep. Michael Conaway, who took to Fox News to share the conclusions, said while Republicans agreed with the findings of U.S. intelligence agencies that Russia interfered in the election, the committee found no evidence that the Kremlin favored Trump — which contradicts the intel community.

“These members saw the testimony of four intelligence officers appointed by Donald Trump testify before Congress that Russia tried to interfere in the election on behalf of Donald Trump,” Scarborough said on Morning Joe. “They know that.”

“It’s obvious and yet they claim in this report made for talk radio that that wasn’t the case,” he continued, claiming that House Republicans “are happy to ignore” Trump’s CIA director.

“So tell me, why did they lie when everybody knows they’re lying, that the Russians were trying to help Donald Trump and secondly why the rush to judgment?” he asked. “Why now?”

Axios’ Jim VandeHei argued that the findings of Committee Republicans can be used be Trump to undermine and dismiss the eventual findings of special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation.
