Seth Meyers, Amy Poehler Blast James Comey For Weighing In On Midterms: You Need to ‘Shut Up’ and ‘Get a Life!’
Seth Meyers and Amy Poehler revived their “Really!?!” segment from Saturday Night Live and roasted former FBI Director James Comey for weighing in on the 2018 midterms.
Last week, after endorsing Democrats to take back Congress in November, he urged the party to not “lose [their] minds” and rush towards to the “socialist left.”
Democrats, please, please don’t lose your minds and rush to the socialist left. This president and his Republican Party are counting on you to do exactly that. America’s great middle wants sensible, balanced, ethical leadership.

Well, Meyers and Poehler had a lot to say about it.
“Really, James Comey!?! You want to weigh in on things when there’s an election coming up? You feel like that’s gone well for you in the past? Meyers began. “That’s like Michael Jordan saying, ‘I think I’m gonna take another shot at baseball.'”
“Really, James Comey? You’re worried that Democrats are gonna move too far to the left? Really” Poehler chimed in. “I don’t know if you remember, but we were just about to have a nice, boring, moderate Democrat for a president until you decided to open up your mouth a week before the election you big dumb scarecrow!”
“And as far as I’m concerned, Democrats can vote for a bong in the shape of Che Guevara and you have nothing to say about it!” Poehler added.
The Late Night host blasted Comey for accusing Democrats of “losing their minds” while the party in power is “locking babies in cages” and President Donald Trump talks about Russian President Vladimir Putin “the way Jay Z talks about Beyoncé.”
“I’ll take your political advice as soon as I’m done with my Jeffrey Dahmer cookbook and my Harvey Weinstein fitness tapes!” Meyers exclaimed.
“James, I get it. You feel guilty and you don’t want history to remember you as the guy who opened the door for the death of democracy. I don’t blame you, really,” Poehler told Comey. “But the idea of you playing advisor to the Democratic Party is kinda like the iceberg trying to join the crew of the Titanic.”
Poehler also ordered Comey to “shut up, sit down, take a nap, and get a life.”
