The View Breaks Down Wild CNN Shouting Match: Jeffrey Toobin ‘Looked Like He Was in a Hostage Video’
Last night, after the network replayed Anderson Cooper‘s 60 Minutes interview with Stormy Daniels, CNN gave us a multi-segment panel discussion featuring Daniels’ lawyer Michael Avenatti, Michael Cohen lawyer/friend David Schwartz and CNN legal analyst Jeffrey Toobin. Discussion, however, isn’t really an apt description of what actually transpired. It was more like a half-hour food fight between Avenatti and Schwartz with poor Toobin stuck in the middle.
At the top of today’s broadcast of The View, the hosts broke down the insane shouting match between Schwartz and Avenatti, while expressing sympathy for Toobin.
“It’s kind of interesting,” Whoopi Goldberg declared. “It’s like watching halfway decent television.”
This led Sara Haines to chime in, saying the “lawyer-on-lawyer action is really fascinating.” Sunny Hostin noted they were all on a text thread last night while watching the lengthy segment/
“Poor Jeff Toobin looked like he was in a hostage video,” Hostin said.
Joy Behar jumped into the conversation, comparing Toobin’s situation to a previous View discussion she was involved in that featured her stuck in the middle while Rosie O’Donnell and Elisabeth Hasselbeck were fighting.
“It was like a tennis match,” Behar observed.
Hostin once again noted that Toobin “looked like he was in a hostage video” while Haines said she felt so “badly for him” because the two lawyers were invading his personal space.
