Early last month, Howard Stern called Lena Dunham a “a little fat girl who kind of looks like Jonah Hill,” adding, “she keeps taking her clothes off and it kind of feels like a rape.” Friday night, the star and creator of HBO’s Girls got some serious revenge on Stern when she attended his big 60th birthday bash at Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City and took the mic to roast the media king in front of his family and friends.
“He asked me if I was intimidated because my boyfriend could be getting a much hotter piece of ass,” Dunham told the crowd of Stern’s semi-apology to her a few days after his original comments. “At the time, I didn’t have the wherewithal to ask if you were intimidated because [your wife] Beth could definitely be with someone who doesn’t look like a cartoon of a Jewish female horse.”
The actress also found a cleverly-backhanded way to tell Stern he was not actually a “misogynist,” and followed up her jokes with a more sincere message about him being a “champion of women in the arts.”
Fortunately for everyone who wasn’t in attendance, someone captured the speech on a cell phone camera for us all to enjoy. Warning: there’s some NSFW language, mostly from the guy who was filming the video:
