‘They Didn’t Raise Their Son Right’: George Zimmerman Goes After Trayvon Martin’s Parents
Last week George Zimmerman tried to auction off the gun he used to fatally shoot Trayvon Martin, and everyone was pretty shocked. Well, that wasn’t even the end of it.
Zimmerman did an interview with The Daily Beast today in which he trashes the parents of the young man he shot––as he says, and as the jury affirmed in its verdict, in self-defense.
But in the interview, Zimmerman said Martin’s parents “didn’t raise their son right” because “he attacked a complete stranger and attempted to kill him.”
“Sybrina Fulton and Tracy Martin did everything they could to capitalize on her son’s death,” he said. “She was never a mother figure to him. Tracy Martin couldn’t have cared less about their son. He treated him like a dog without a leash.”
And while he said he’s sorry for any parent that loses a child, “I also believe it’s their duty to have an internal dialogue to see what they should have done better and what they should have done appropriately.”
He also isn’t a fan of #BlackLivesMatter, the movement which got started after he was found not guilty, said he wants to “make sure that every law enforcement officer and every single civilian who is affected by the Black Lives Matter fraudulent, violent campaign—those officers, those civilians, their entire families—were made wealthy beyond their wildest imaginations.”
