Remember, early on in this innocent decade, when it was a big deal when Bill O’Reilly started criticizing rap music? Now, it seems to happen all the time.

For someone opposed to the immorality and hedonism that he sees embraced in rap lyrics, O’Reilly knows how to start a hip-hop-style feud with some of the big names in the industry, including Ludacris, Nas, and Cam’ron.

Eight notable beefs between O’Reilly and rappers, starting off with Ludacris (semi-NSFW):

o’reilly has such an ego… its hilarious. no wonder the guy is popular. he gets himself involved in tons of pointless feuds that simply get him ratings. he thinks he is the main person in the media to advocate against everything that he thinks is bad when there are people advocating again him for his actions and words. oddly, he cant see the hate he spews, and only everybody else’s.

Remember folks… O’Reilly pointing out violent lyrics or demean women… it’s a bad thing. Of course, when Al Gore’s wife did a similar thing in the late 80s… it was a good thing. And when women’s groups make the same kind of comments… it’s a good thing. And when anti-violence groups, or anti-gun groups, or anti-war groups, protest or complain about politicians, media members, or music… it’s a good thing.

What’s the difference? Why, O’Reilly of course. If he does it… it’s bad. If anyone else does it… it’s good!

It’s hypocritical… and O’Reilly surely isn’t wrong… but, to hate O’Reilly isn’t a “fact” type of thing, it’s an “emotional” type of thing. Gotta hate him and disagree, even if it’s for the sake of being argumentative. Can’t give an inch. O’Reilly is always wrong… even if it makes me a hypocrite.

The reason Bill O’Reilly is wrong is because his “observations” of Hip Hop are often malicious. He obviously has an obsession with the Hip-Hop from the music,to the culture, and the people who represent it. If he’s really disgusted with the content that some rap music focuses on, then he should be calling attention to the record labels who continue to put money behind these artist. The music is no worse than your average pg-13 movie or television these days. Why isn’t he going after the movie studios the same way?

If he and anyone else is worried about kids being influenced by these things then parents need to stop letting them listen to and watch these things.

Well, I think O’Reilly has taken the record companies and the parents to task… but some of the responsibility still does lay with the person saying it. Blame the person who person handing out the microphone… but also blame the person speaking into it.

David Axelrod: HCR Vote More Meaningful Than Election Night

How much history can one Presidency take? Looks like we may find out. Last night's 219-212 vote for health care reform inevitably casts President Obama in a new historical light. David Axelrod put the whole thing in relative perspective for a nation now accustomed really big moments: It's the biggest.

Glenn Beck Puts The ‘SanFran Radicals’ Responsible For HCR On Notice

It's likely no one will benefit more immediately from yesterday's HCR vote than Glenn Beck. Beck tweeted out earlier this morning what I can only assume is a preview of what's to come on his show between now and November. I'm not entirely clear on who the "60's sanfran radicals" are...I'm guessing Nancy Pelosi?
