CNN’s Carol Costello Apologizes for Comments About Palin Brawl
Earlier this week, CNN anchor Carol Costello teed up the audio of Bristol Palin telling the police about that now-infamous brawl by saying, “This is quite possibly the best minute and a half of audio we’ve ever come across. Well, come across in a long time anyway.”
Costello then played the audio of Palin, which was censored a bit for profanity. But her intro got Costello some heat from conservative blogs, with NewsBusters’ Geoffrey Dickens crying hypocrisy in Costello condemning all violence against women only to put on a more light-hearted face in talking about it happening to a Palin.
In a statement today to Politico, Costello says, “Over the past few days I have been roundly criticized for joking about a brawl involving the Palin family. In retrospect, I deserve such criticism and would like to apologize.”
