Donald Trump In New Rant: I Didn’t Run For President Due To Republican ‘Stupidity’

video

Much like a low-budget version of Glenn Beck TV, Donald Trump has been making routine releases of opinion videos on questions that he perceives the media has of him. After explaining why he eats pizza with utensils, Trump is now tackling why he didn’t run for president as a Republican. Yes, he admits, turning down The Apprentice was impossible, but the Republicans and their “absolutely ridiculous” approach to Medicare.

“When they tamper with Medicare, they have a death wish,” Trump noted, using the same language for the Republicans that he used for Rep. Anthony Weiner. “It’s absolutely ridiculous what they did… the timing was so bad,” he complained about the Rep. Paul Ryan plan. “You can’t win an election if you’re going to be playing games with Medicare,” he continued, concluding that “the stupidity of the Republicans and the Ryan plan” finally got him to decide against a run. He also opposed the Republican refusal to give money to the victims of the tornado of Joplin, MO.

But that’s not entirely the reason Trump refused to run as a Republican. “On top of that,” he said, “NBC is calling me on an hourly basis, offering me all sort of money to continue The Apprentice… Who gives up a hit show? Nobody.”

But Trump is never one to refuse to give something to fans, promising there was plenty of time left for the “big show.”

Wow, I just came back 1/2 hour after the first time, and still no comments!

That’s the Biggest HURT for the Donald!!!

  • Nacho

Trump makes some good points, I like his spirit.

  • LOGICandREASON

Trump is beginning to sound like someone who has received some secret phone calls and told what to do for reasons I still cannot determine yet.

The sudden change in his demeanor and unusual resentment towards the republican party raises quite a lot of suspicion as far as I’m concerned.

Really. Just 3 comments (now 4) after this long? Donald, you’re fired!

This, of course assumes that logic and reason are actually applicable to Trump.

I am starting to think Trump is taking up the curmudgeon role and just bashing everyone.

The coward backed out right after a few jokes got directed at him. Now he is just playing the blame game. Good riddance.

  • valkyrie101

Trump is going through withdrawl symptoms. He was the top story for few weeks, but now, second fiddle to a weiner.

    What a Maverick!

Not only has Donald basically become Gordon Bloyer by posting videos of himself online, but stories about him get about as many page views as Gordon’s You Tube uploads.

  • TheEagle

Trump calling someone stupid is like Weiner calling someone sleazy.

Your buying into the media nonsense obviously. The ship hasn’t left the dock and people are still boarding. The winner is still probably on line to purchase his cruise ticket. For someone who’s 600 years old and full of wisdom, i’m surprised you fall for all the baloney.

You might be right, but personally I don’t think he truly has deep intentions of running for the office as he might want to make us believe.

Another thing is that he might have secretly switched over to being a tool for the Left, considering his very close ties to NBC, Campaign donations history, and his ties to prominent New York Democrats who are directly linked to the White House.

I’m almost 800 years old; Anyway when the boats haven’t left port and they’re already taking on water, you got problems.

The all in nature of the Republicans for the Ryan Plan probably was a political mistake but if Trump was really a Republican, he wouldn’t be bashing the Ryan Plan so much. Rather he would be couching it in terms of it being a starting point in negotiations. The problem is the Democrats refuse to address the problem so we have the free market proposal on one side and no proposal at all on the other side.

CLASSIC!!! There you have it Republicans, the “Trumpster” has declared you’re all idiots. Well maybe not all of you, but certainly your leaders are. You see if the Republicans would have stuck to the issues they were winning on, such as “Birtherism”, then “The Donald” may have run. But NOOOOOOO! You Republicans had to introduce your Budget plan, and that ruined everything. You heard it “Medicare” is a good plan, the “Trumpster” said so. And how about that “idiot” Cantor? He’s one hundred percent behind the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, but could care less about Americans who suffer devastating losses, through no fault of their own. How many of you die hard Conservative posters are Trump backers and how many of you are “idiot” Republicans?

when the insane run the asylum….what do you expect to happen.
People been in politics for to long. Your only hope, vote all incumbents out and start again.

Get the Congressional Reform Act of 2011 passed and get honest men/women in office.
Demand you representative to VOTE this in! or vote them out!

    1. Term Limits.
12 years only, one of the possible options below..
    A. Two Six-year Senate terms
    B. Six Two-year House terms
    C. One Six-year Senate term and three Two-Year House terms

    2. No Tenure / No Pension.
A Congressman collects a salary while in office and receives no pay when they are out of office.

    3. Congress (past, present & future) participates in Social Security.
All funds in the Congressional retirement fund move to the Social Security system immediately. All future funds flow into the Social Security system, and Congress participates with the American people.

    4. Congress can purchase their own retirement plan, just as all Americans do.

    5. Congress will no longer vote themselves a pay raise. Congressional pay will rise by the lower of CPI or 3%.

    6. Congress loses their current health care system and participates in the same health care system as the American people.

    7. Congress must equally abide by all laws they impose on the American people.

    8. All contracts with past and present Congressmen are void effective 1/1/12.

WE need change in government and more right to choice by the people.

Trump seems to be making the same point about radical changes to Medicare that Newt Gingrich was making, albeit with more articulation.

It will be interesting on two fronts:
    1. Will he be vilified by the Ryan Plan supports like Newt was?
    2. Will this issue come up during Monday nights GOP debate?

  • Michael_T

    *supporters NOT supports

But it could be argued that the bridges he ‘might’ be burning with his harsh bombastic rhetoric might already be in disrepair due to some combination of the following GOP polices:

    1. Hostility toward public unions which include teachers, law enforcement, paramedics and nurses.
    2. Suggesting radical Medicare changes rejected by a significant number of registered voters – especially seniors.
3 Inexplicable contempt for the long-term unemployed.
    4. Shameful attitude toward Joplin tornado victims

This is not to say the GOP doesn’t have some good ideas about means testing for Medicare and plans for reducing corporate taxes.

But I have a difficult time accepting that anywhere from 1-4 of the aforementioned items is not hurting the GOP and their apparent unwillingness to abandon their group think strategy.

Poor Donald John Trump, he’s dumb as dirt.

That Obama “birth certificate” published 27 April 2011, which Trump allowed to knock himself out of the race, will be disproved by Obama’s DNA, which upon analysis will show it’s biologically impossible for him to be the son of a Negro father and a Caucasian mother. It names adoptive parents.

The RINOs are stupid, all right, but the dunce cap goes to Donald.

    Who is Frances Martel?

She is person who wrote the above article about Donald Trump. Her headline refers to Mr. Trump’s message as a “Rant”. Hmm, a “rant”?

I realize a headline, is a headline, but, a “rant’? I listened very carefully this ‘Trump’ interview, as well as others and generally speaking, Trump is seldom, even loud, in fact. I call his voice resonant, clear and measured. Trump has a practiced, steady rate of speech. He is not given to prolixity, he may be articulate but uses his words sparingly.

I would suggest that for Mr. Trump, it is the destination and not the journey that is whats important. Ergo, Trump desires you hear and understand his message.

So where did Frances Martel get the word “rant”? My guess is that Frances is aLefty trying, oh so hard, to be objective. But, she just couldn’t hide those peculiar left wing inclinations.

Nice try though Frances. (If you see Dan Abrams, tell him I know his secret)

I understand your concern, JUSTPLAYTHEGAME. However, “Term Limits” are not necessary as such would be redundant.

The Founders incorporated the Popular VOTE into our governmental treatises and system. Ergo, the VOTE, is “Term Limitations”.

Perish the thought that America would create a law that would make the voting public any more lazy and complacent than it already is.

    But definitely not a lefty.

    MICHAELT,

Point taken, I’ll re-read some of her introductions. However (always a “however”) I was focused on the word “rant”. As I suggested, Mr. Trump seldom rants.

One last question: Do you find the tone of Mediaite, in general, to be left or right?

Obviously you and I seem to enjoy the Web sight, but….

    Nice to make your acquaintance
