Jesse Ventura: “We Have Been Practicing Terrorism For 50 Years”

video

Former Minnesota Governor and professional wrestler Jesse Ventura has a recent history of making controversial declarations publicly (he has a show now called Conspiracy Theory).

In an interview with Fox Business Network’s Eric Bolling, that streak continued – as he threw around words like “coward”.

It began as a talk about health care but quickly moved to a discussion of nuclear weapons. “How many times do we need to blow up the world?” asked Ventura. “How much power do we need from nuclear bombs?”

After a few backs-and-forth, Bolling said, “Maybe the kids that we send over to Afghanistan, Pakistan, God forbid Iran, won’t have to go because we do have a nuclear weapon and we’re willing to use it.” Ventura wasn’t biting, instead arguing against the Iraq War, defense spending and more. Then he took it there. “We have been practicing terrorism for 50 years only we call it foreign policy,” he said.

As the interview got more headed, it led to this exchange:

Ventura: You’re giving me a hypothetical situation.
Bolling: You’re giving me a speculative…
Ventura: I’m giving you a veteran who’s been there, not a coward who hasn’t been.

With audible gasps heard off camera, Bolling quickly changed the subject. Never dull when you get The Body talking conspiracies…

Here’s the full interview:

Ventura is a jerk. Here’s a video of him trying to bully a guy who’s about 1/3rd of his size (the great Jim Norton), but Ventura winds up running away like a little girl because Norton has bigger b*lls then he does.

That’s exactly the way to handle a bully; no retreat, baby, no surrender.

you left out an important point which is….WHY in the hell is Jesse Ventura on the Fox Business Network?

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Vik-Sidhu/122608564 Vik Sidhu

Because apparently Fox News is too “cowardly” to let him on their air…

“We created our own Hanoi Hilton in Guantánamo. That’s our Hanoi Hilton.”
“Really? Have you enlisted? Have you enlisted or are you just talking?… Go walk the walk, don’t talk the talk.”
“Organized religion is a sham and a crutch for weak-minded people who need strength in numbers.”
“Until you have hunted men, you haven’t hunted yet.”
These quotes are attributed to Ventura.

Most Vets I know never say they served unless asked and never use it as a tool to put someone down.

In January 2002, Ventura, who had never specifically claimed to have fought in Vietnam, disclosed for the first time that he did not see combat.

Bill Salisbury, an attorney in San Diego and a former Navy SEAL officer, accused Ventura of “pretending” to be a SEAL and wrote Ventura would be blurring an important distinction by claiming to be a SEAL when he was actually a frogman with the UDT.

Maybe the steroids have finally caught up with that pea sized brain.

Ah, that long tradition of great Minnesota politicians. You can start with Ignatius Donnelly, the Minnesota congressman who wrote a book about the lost continent of Atlantis, and keep on going all the way to Jesse Ventura and Al Franken. They are good for a laugh, but who can take these folks seriously as policy experts?

  • Jelperman

    Ventura 2012!

  • Jelperman

    Ventura rules!

Notice how no one even tries to dispute the facts he presents.

  • http://www.anonymousfinch.com AnonymousFinch

    Jelperman:

    What facts did he present?

I heard him say two things. First, we shouldn’t be spending more money on nuclear weapons. Okay, fine, but nobody is saying that we should be. Bush cut the nuke arsenal significantly in 2002, and Obama wants to take it down even lower. Who is proposing that we need more?

Second, he said that we’ve been practicing terrorism for the last 50 years. He didn’t really explain the factual basis for that claim, but I disagree. If you believe it, why don’t you explain, factually, where and when we’ve practiced terrorism.

  • Penguin60

Never get into a pissing match with a skunk.

  • TylerDurdin

“Notice how no one even tries to dispute the facts he presents.”

He didn’t present any. how can you you dispute something that was not proffered?

  • germ

Jelperman was just trying to use the Glenn Beck Defense without actually knowing what it means. It must be nice to be a zombie.

Jesse Ventura thinks 9/11 was an inside job. Doesn’t that disqualify him from legitimate debate? No logical thinking person believes America attacked itself on 9/11. It has been scientifically disproven and common sense should rule it out. He is as ignorant as an Obama voter.

  • TylerDurdin

Did anyone watch Jesse’s show, “Conspiracies” or something like that?

It was the worst stuff ever. On any alleged conspiracy, anyone could just walk up to Jesse or his staff and give them a load of crap and they would take it as gospel. Any degenerate who said something that supported a conspiracy position was heralded as a hero.

Jesse was so laughable when he said on “The View” that Lincoln was killed as part of a conspiracy! What? You don’t say, Jesse. Apparently HE didn’t know that others were also targeted the night Abe was killed until he started his show and suddenly HIS ignorance is everyone’s ignorance. Gees, Jesse, if ya ever read a book on the Lincoln assassination , ya would have known it.

Eric Bolling is a rock star. Jesse Ventura…just a rock. Great job, Eric.

  • writer

Jesse, Hitler was a combat veteran, too. That doesn’t automatically qualify you as an expert in foreign affairs. It seems that when Jesse was a wrestler, he took a few too many blows to the head.

Who is Eric Bolling? Why should I give a fig about what Eric Bolling thinks or says? Does having a nice suit and job with Roger Ailes and Rupert Murdoch make one God’s gift to humanity?

Thanks for your typical nonsensical and nonresponsive post.

Well…who is Eric Bolling, Tyler? What’s HIS background on International Affairs and the Geneva Convention declarations on torture? What’s his expertise in?

I KNOW what Gov. Ventura’s background is.

  • Banjo

I have thought that Ventura went around the bend a long time ago. Steroid abuse does do strange things to the brain, although his might be an ordinary case of paranoia.

  • TylerDurdin

I KNOW what Gov. Ventura’s background is. ”

And what is his background on international affairs? ZERO! And where in the world did either of them mention torture or the Geneva convention?

And they were not talking international affairs, they were taking about the affairs of the USA.

  • disgusted

I HAD to join this “discussion” – Who is..??..
Read: “Term Limits” – it’ll give you an “idea” about these people – and their beliefs!

  • Snipzor

This is what happens when I’m gone all day. AnonymousFinch beats me in the posting of the great Jim Norton’s confrontation with Ventura. Seriously, that guy absolutely lost his mind ever since he hopped on board with the 9/11 troofers.

Hmm… I wonder if the great skeptic James Randi has ever thought of delving into conspiracy theory insanity.

  • pyrope

Ventura has been dropped on his head too many times. As for “disputing his comments” is concerned, just as we all know that dog poop stinks, we don’t make a point of mentioning it. Similarly, when someone makes comments of the nature of Mr. Ventura’s, rational people do not necessarily need to point out the fact that said comments are irrational.

How convenient of you to leave out your favorite Minnesota wingnut Michelle Bachmann!

This is another guy that belongs in a rubber room! he definitely took to many blows to the head. LOL Thanks anonymousfinch For the link! That was great! That shows Venturas true colors a grade a coward. Yellow as they come. Just your typical School yard bully getting his clock cleaned by the class clown! BWWWAAAHA HA HA HAA. I LOOOOOOOVE it!

  • Sunnyr

Why doesn’t this silly bozo have a seat in the Obama administration? Their ideology appears to be the same. They are both a couple of ZERO’S!
