Newsmax Editor Confirms ‘Donald Trump Conspiracy’
While MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell has the national panic level set to “orange,” right-leaning magazine Newsmax has been offering positive coverage of potential (or not) Republican (or Independent) presidential candidate Donald Trump. Is there some sort of conspiracy at play here?
U.S. News & World Repor decided to ask Newsmax CEO Christopher Ruddy directly – and his answer may surprise you! Or not, really:
So is there a Trump-Newsmax conspiracy? “Yes,” cheers Ruddy. “Trump realizes the great potential of Newsmax and has been using it very adroitly. We’re well aware he’s using it, happy he’s using it” says Ruddy from the Newsmax HQ in Florida.
“He’s been really responsive to our news team here,” says Ruddy, who calls Trump a “friend.”
Ruddy adds that liberal watchdog Media Matters is correct in its assessment of Newsmax – the magazine and website alike – as an “early and enthusiastic promoter of Trump’s presidential ambitions.”
And the relationship – while likely frustrating for those wary of Trump’s political ambitions – is a smart one for both the business man and Newsmax. In fact, Ruddy says the magazine is prepared to offer a platform to all the potential GOP candidates and that, regardless of people’s personal feelings about Trump, right now the man is definitely “touching a nerve.” And, we’re sure, probably selling magazines.
