Sesame Street Begins Campaign To Get Cookie Monster On SNL, Makes Him An Audition Video

Well, if it worked for Betty White… The folks over at Sesame Workshop have uploaded an interesting video over on the Sesame Street Tumblr. Amidst the clips from the classic show (typically ones featuring celebrity guests that might appeal to the older viewers who are more likely to have Tumblr accounts) is a new video purporting to be Cookie Monster’s homemade audition tape for Saturday Night Live complete with his own version of Weekend Update and an impression of Lady Gaga! They’ve also created a Facebook petition to get the “cookie enthusiast” a hosting position. Good luck to the blue guy all though this all might be in vain. Traditionally, some SNL writers have refused to “write for felt.”

Maybe they ought to get a camapaign going to get him back on their own show. He is never on anymore. Stop whoring Elmo out in every segment and maybe use Cookie, Big Bird, and Snuffy a little bit. Even Bert and Ernie are never used outside of a segment that has them in clay form, not their regular Muppet form.

Oh and throwing a few white people on the show from time to time would be nice too.
